Kris & Scott Prinzig: Earthshine |
|
Earthshine, a duo of Kris and Scott Prinzing, will be playing their original contemporary acoustic music at Flatiron Gallery during the opening reception of Dennis Kern's, Montage of Muses, at the August 1 ArtWalk, 7-8:30 p.m. Guitar, bass, and mandolin provide an intricate, subtle backdrop for Kris' soaring vocals. With Scott's elegant harmonies, the music warms the heart, enagages the mind, and soothes the soul. The original lyrics are thoughtful with a social and environmental conscience. Flatiron Gallery, 2A Custer Avenue is located in the historic flatiron building at the tricorner of Division, Montana Avenue and Custer. Call 256-7791 for more information. |

Candace Forrette: Gazing In |
|
 Arc Through Order (detail)
Arc Through Order: A Daughter's Homage, an installation of more than 800 individual aluminum knitting needles, suspended vertically by monofilaments, will open July 3. A reception for Candace Forrette will be held at Flatiron Gallery, Tuesday, July 8, 5 -9 p.m. with a gallery talk at 7 p.m. The installation forms a sea of "grass" with an arc "pathway" sweeping through the field. The piece grew out of memories and a fondness and respect by Forrette for her parents, two artists finding their way through the sometimes rigid expectations of the times in which they lived. |
